This course is designed to assist K–8 teachers in effectively working with students in word learning and exploration. Participants will explore creative teaching strategies and assessments that support word study and become familiar with strategies for managing a word study classroom. Teachers are encouraged to try some of the strategies in their classroom and discuss pros and cons with other learners in weekly discussions.
A final project of planning and preparing a lesson plan for working with at least one group of students will be created and provided for feedback during the course.
